SAN ANTONIO, TX — Police said a motorcyclist was killed during a road rage incident involving another driver along Loop 410 on Thursday afternoon.

According to a preliminary report, investigators say the unidentified victim was riding his motorcycle along Southeast Loop 410 near Goliad Road when he apparently cut off the driver of a car.

Officers believe the driver and the motorcyclist began engaging in road rage behavior, trying to pass each other.

At some point, the driver of the car got too close to the motorcycle, causing the rider to go off the road and into the grassy median. The motorcyclist was killed when the bike hit high tension cables and threw him off, causing his body to slam into a post.

The rider died at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Police say the driver of the car took off.
