What’s the first thing you think about when you imagine bikers? Well, whatever it is, we bet it’s never a kindly father figure ready to protect you from harm, right?
However, a new organization is making us see them that way as they use their reputation to accomplish real good in the world.
Bikers Against Child Abuse International (BACA) is an organization that aims to help abused children feel safer.
It was started by a biker in Utah named Chief who discovered a correlation between children and bikers, noticing that children feel safe around motorcycles.
They have many ways to help, including picking a child up at the bus, camping out in front of his or her home until they feel safe, or even escorting a child to court in order to help them feel more comfortable.
In this video we can see members Badd Bob, Blad, Hammer and Doc P, explain a recent experience in which they were called out to Tennessee to help with a child abuse case that had caught on with the media.
A call was put out to get as many bikers down and more than 100 bikers ended up showing up to help.
Another touching part of the video involves biker Doc P demonstrating how important the stuffed animals they give each new member are. As he shows, every time they get a new member, each biker takes turns giving the bear a hug before passing it along to their child.
They say the reason for this is that they are passing along their love and courage to the child so that when the child holds it, they know they’re never alone.
