Dash cam shows man intentionally hit motorcyclist

PALM HARBOR, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a Pinellas County man who they say intentionally hit a motorcyclist. Jonathan Edward Blaine, 35, of Palm Harbor, faces multiple felonies in connection with the incident.

Troopers responded to a call of a vehicle accident with people involved in the crash arguing.

Once troopers arrived on the scene they started speaking with Blaine. He claimed that he saw a motorcycle coming up behind him at a high rate of speed. He told troopers, that for an unknown reason, his vehicle was struck by the motorcyclist.

But there was a dash cam and Blaine voluntarily let troopers see it. The video shows Blaine driving straight and then one swift jerk of the vehicle to the left leading to impact with the motorcycle.

Troopers noted the motorcyclist was injured and wished to prosecute.

As troopers attempted to place Blaine under arrest, he fought with them. Troopers took him to the ground, but Blaine continued to fight until Pinellas sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and helped get him under control.

Blaine faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident with the motorcycle; and charges of resisting arrest with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer and escape in connection with the fight with troopers.
